That is the dream! Currently. we're running this events model to prove the concept/address our critical assumptions and raise startup capital before opening a brick & mortar. 

This is phase I. Phase II involves opening a functional beverage bar/lounge that serves as a true third place and an alternative to bars/clubs/coffee shops. Phase III will be recreating this space in cities across the nation.

The plan is to begin our search for commercial spaces in Austin early Q4 2024.

We operate within 40 miles of 78704. We can travel to San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, or other areas of Texas for a travel fee of $1 per mile. 

The majority of the plants we use come in the form of tinctures from an organic farm in upstate New York. They use organic cane alcohol as the medium for extraction. 

Our Kanna and Blue Lotus tinctures are sourced from an herbal farm in Winston-Salem, NC which uses 80 proof Grain Neutral spirits.  

If the alcohol used for extraction is a concern, we have a method of burning off the alcohol without affecting the efficacy of the tincture – please let us know if this is necessary, an additional fee may apply. 

The CBD and THC tinctures are sourced locally from Greenbelt Botanicals.  

We do not provide glassware for large events. 

However, our Tastings do include unique glassware for up to 10 people.

We use an organic cacao that Yasmin brings back with her from the Dominican Republic, where her family is from.

The idea came to me (Yasmin) in 2022 as a direct response to my prayer of “guide me toward the greatest good.” 

I stopped drinking alcohol in 2018, at the precipice of my awakening. I reconnected with my body and increased my mind-body connection by a multitude, perhaps a tad too much…. 

By the end of 2019, I found myself very uncomfortable as an embodied being and began to pray for relief. The message I received was “the plants are there for you.” 

So I began experimenting with kava, kratom, and cbd. Kava resonated most with me so I began carrying a bottle of tincture with me whenever I went out. I’d order a club soda or Richard’s Rainwater and add a few drops. Then I started bringing tinctures and mixers with me to social gatherings to share. From there, the idea to share these plants with others while offering an alternative to alcohol at events began to burgeon, eventually giving birth to Altar Native.

According to a study conducted by The Knot the average cost of alcohol at an event is $15 pp for just beer and wine, while a full bar can cost up to $45 per person. The average cost of alcohol for a wedding, based on data from all over the country, was $2,400 and that doesn’t include the bar rental, bartender, glassware, or tip. 

In fact, a local alcohol bar caterer here in Austin offers packages that start at $14 pp for just 3h of service, serving 2 value wines, 2 value beers, and soda – which does not include staff rates, bar rentals, a 20% setup/service charge, transportation outside of Austin, or gratuity. 

Compare that to Altar’s $14-$44 per person, even with the $888 Showing Up fee, our rates fall below that of hosting a traditional alcoholic bar, while serving functional, mood-elevating elixirs that benefit you and your guests, from behind a beautiful and intentional setup. 

Yes! We provide discounts for certain charity events and need-based clients. If you really want to have Altar Native at your event but can’t afford it, reach out – let’s see what we can do :)

A deposit of 50% of the estimate is required to   reserve the date for your event. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis, just let us know!
